St. Bernards Makes It a Three-peat with Selection as one of the ‘2015
Oct 06, 2015

For the third consecutive year, St. Bernards Medical Center has been selected as one of the Best Places to Work in Arkansas. This year St. Bernards has been in the top 18 firms recognized in a program created by Arkansas Business and Best Companies Group. It was the only hospital to receive recognition.

The survey and awards program identifies, recognizes and honors the best employers in the state.

To be eligible to participate, companies had to meet the following requirements:

 Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity

 Be a publicly or privately held business

 Have a facility in Arkansas

 Have a minimum of 15 employees in Arkansas

 Be in business for a minimum of one year.

Companies take part in a two-part survey process used to determine Arkansas’ Best Places to Work for 2015. The first part consists of evaluations of workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics and represents approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consists of employee surveys to determine a measure of the employee experience and is worth 75 percent.

Combined scores are used to determine top companies and to rank businesses. Best Companies Group manages the overall registration and survey process, analyzes data and determines final rankings.

The actual rankings will be revealed at a special awards event in Little Rock in September and then will be published in a special September issue of Arkansas Business.

“St. Bernards has played a significant role in the development of Jonesboro and Northeast Arkansas, having been established 115 years ago to help meet community needs during a malarial fever epidemic. Since that time, we have served as a trusted provider of comprehensive,

compassionate healthcare, filling the role of a regional referral center for patients in Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri,” says St. Bernards Administrator Michael Givens.

“Not only are we pleased to achieve recognition by being selected one of 18 Arkansas businesses that are among the best places in the state to work, but also we get valuable feedback from our employees through the survey process. That information is something we use to make our work environment even better.

“We have many employees who are passionate about their work,” Givens continues. “That is one of the things that makes St. Bernards a very special place to work.”

St. Bernards Medical Center is a 438-bed acute care facility that serves as a referral center for 23 counties in Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas and is the only Level III Trauma Center in the region. It has served as the trusted provider of comprehensive, compassionate care for 115 years.
