Aug 24, 2010

The ASU Small Business and Technology Development Center has published it's September Training Schedule for Northeast Arkansas small businesses.  "Small business owners throughout Northeast and North-Central Arkansas have 9 opportunities to learn how to grow their businesses this month." Said Herb Lawrence, ASU SBTDC Center Director. "We are especially excited to announce 3 NEW seminars and speakers." To see a list of all our September workshops visit the ASU SBTDC Training Calendar.

In addition to our usual workshops we have a new seminar on Website Strategy & Planning coming up Tuesday, September 7th 1-4 pm at the ASU Delta Center.  Our speakers, Christi & Joe Wharton explore strategies, techniques, technologies and best practices needed to make their websites an effective marketing tool.  In today's changing internet marketing environment small businesses must know how to integrate their websites to meet these changes especially integrating social media sites and blogs.

We will also offer an Advanced Facebook Marketing for Businesses, to be taught by Abbi Siler, owner of Local2Social a Social Media Marketing Consulting business.  Ms. Siler will help businesses already using Facebook pages learn how to make them even stronger with tools, applications and tips to grow their fan base.  This workshop will be held Thursday, September 9th 1-4 pm at the ASU Technical Center.

Ms. Siler will also be our instructor on Tuesday, September 14th for Twitter for Business Marketing.  An experienced Twitter user, Ms. Siler will introduce attendees to Twitter the micro blogging social media network platform, why it will work for businesses, how to set up a Twitter page and more.  The workshop will be 1-4 pm at the ASU Delta Center for Economic Development on the ASU campus.

In addition to these three new seminars the ASU SBTDC will offer a Four night Introduction to QuickBooks Series starting Tuesday, September 7th from 6-9 pm at the ASU Technical Center in Jonesboro.  The certified Quickbooks instructors - Linda Harvey and Sherri Hensley will show small businesses how to set up and use this powerful accounting software.  Each session is stand-alone but attendees will receive a significant discount for signing up for all four nights.

Finally the ASU staff will hold a Starting A Business in Arkansas seminar for entrepreneurs looking at opening a new business on Thursday, September 16th from 1-4 pm and a Business Financing Options workshop on Thursday, September 30th from 1-4 pm.
