Nov 16, 2010
United Way of Northeast Arkansas announced November 12 that it has chosen Nanette Heard to serve as Executive Director.

Since September of 2004, Heard has been working at United Way as accountant. With her depth of knowledge of the organization attained during this period, she is well-prepared to step up to the position of Executive Director.  “Ruth & I are very grateful for the opportunities of advancement the board has allowed us,” said Heard.  “They have been very supportive & we're excited about moving forward!”

At the same time, United Way announced that Ruth Baker will take on the position of Accountant. Baker has served as Executive Assistant at United Way since May of 2005.

"The Board of Directors of United Way of Northeast Arkansas is excited to
announce the promotions of Nanette Heard to the position of Executive Director and Ruth Baker to position of Accountant.  These ladies have worked many years for United Way and have the utmost integrity and sincere desire to impact our communities  in areas of income, education and health", states Connie Stevenson, Board of Directors President.

United Way of Northeast Arkansas is working to advance the common good by focusing on education, income and health. These are the building blocks for a good life – a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health. Their goal is to create long-lasting changes that prevent problems from happening in the first place.
