- Certification signifies company’s commitment to data security, customer service -

JONESBORO, ARK., June 6, 2011 – SynTel LLC, a provider of document design and mailroom optimization software and services, received its SAS 70 Type II certification from Springfield, Mo.-based BKD, LLC for control objectives and activities throughout the organization. SAS 70 is the authoritative guidance that uses a uniform reporting format to ensure high quality control activities and processes for customer service and data security.

A SAS 70 examination signifies that SynTel has had its control objectives and activities examined by an independent accounting and auditing firm. Prior to official SAS 70 Type II certification, SynTel voluntarily submitted to an in-depth audit that included evaluation of information technology and related processes.

“SynTel works with 1,400 companies nationwide, and we recognize the importance of taking every possible precaution to protect data for our customers,” said Harry Herget, co-founder of SynTel.  “During the audit, we worked with BKD to analyze and adjust every process, enhancing the safeguards and controls involved in creating, printing and mailing customer documents.”

SynTel chose to rely on BKD due to their work with Jonesboro, Ark.-based Blu3 Technologies, which conducts SynTel’s annual security audit. Herget explained, “More banks and companies now require SAS70 certification before they will work with a vendor. BKD was familiar with the security audits and protocols utilized by Blu3, which helped us refine and focus our efforts into ensuring every system met the strictest security standards.”
