The Governor’s Work-Life Balance Award recognizes Arkansas employers that have launched and are making available the necessary resources to support employees in balancing the needs of both work and family. Of the 52 participants, companies were selected in three different categories, based on their number of employees, and were required to complete a questionnaire on the availability of work-life balance programs.

The questionnaire required applicants to list participation in the following areas: benefits, work-time options, career/personal development, mature workers, employee assistance programs, infant care assistance, child care assistance, elder care assistance, wellness, leave time, work place culture and collaboration. The form requested that applicants indicate whether an above program was offered, how long the program has been in effect and the policies of each program.
