ASU's License to Howl Promotion, Football Fan Appreciation Day Set for Saturday

Arkansas State football will host its annual Fan Appreciation Day in conjunction with ASU's License to Howl program and student move-in day Saturday, Aug. 21.

Fans are invited to ASU Stadium as the Red Wolves hold their 19th practice of fall camp Saturday at 9:00 a.m., which will include a full-contact, red zone and goal line concentrated scrimmage. Posters and schedule cards will be available on the concourse of the stadium.

At the conclusion of practice, several members of the team and coaching staff will take the opportunity to greet fans at the License to Howl promotion in the parking lot of the baseball stadium.

The License to Howl program will also get underway at 9:00 a.m. Saturday and will feature food and drinks compliments of Pepsi and Hays Grocery, prizes and Red Wolves license plates for all attending.

Special drive-through lanes will be marked off in the parking lot, and ASU fans will be welcomed by ASU players, coaches, cheerleaders, the A-Team and staff members. ASU athletic personnel will also affix a Red Wolves license plate to the front of every vehicle.

Frozen treats will be given out from the East Arkansas Broadcasters Polar Roller, and all ASU students with a valid ID can register to win over $1,700 worth of prizes donated by EAB and Best Buy. KFIN Super Country 108 FM will also be on hand with a live remote, along with 101.9 KISS FM and 95.9 The Wolf.

"This promotion is a great way for our coaches, staff and student-athletes to show our appreciation to our supporters," said Dr.

Dean Lee, Director of Athletics. "We're blessed to have great fans, and this allows us an excellent opportunity to express our gratitude and give away some license plates, food and prizes."

A-State Football opens its 2010 season Sept. 4 at Auburn and will play Louisiana-Monroe Sept. 18 in its home opener.
