Jonesboro Occasions- September 2011
Sep 07, 2011

The September issue of Jonesboro Occasions celebrates all that is fall, football and ASU. It begins with a cover story on ASU Head Football Coach Hugh Freeze, who has the community of Jonesboro ready to “Feel the Freeze.” We also have a special sidebar about the coach’s ties with The Blind Side and another sidebar about his cover shoot at Home Ice Co. Follow the QR code on page 10 to watch Coach Freeze’s message to ASU fans.

Special sections in the September issue include: an Arts Season Preview; a special insert about the Fowler Center’s 2011-2012 season; and a Fall Fashion Preview with the latest looks from Patty Cakes, Steamroller Blues, Heavenly Accents, Enhancements Boutique and The Worth Collection.

This issue also features: a story on The Design Shoppe, a full-service screen printing and embroidery shop known for its creative and fashionable ASU clothing and game day accessories; a look at United Way of Northeast Arkansas’ first-ever Bucket Brigade, led by chairman Clint Vogus; a story about the Downtown Jonesboro BBQ Fest; and a behind-the-scenes look at Bro Bones, a group of ASU alumni who have a passion for performing. Our Gallery O for September features Kara Fowler of Kara’s Kustom Art; her ASU artwork will have you ready for football in no time. And you know you can always count on Occasions for our Datebook and our Dining Guide.

August was a very busy month in Jonesboro, so our September issue has event photos from the Red Dress Gala, the Cash Concert Artist Reception, St. Bernards’ Kidz Fest, the American Cancer Society’s Caribbean Splash, the NEA Humane Society’s Wine & Whiskers, the Phi Mu Fashion Show, Sean Shrum’s Summer Art Show, the John 3:16 Community Fest, Loretta’s Catering’s reception to honor ASU’s football coaches’ wives, the Delta Symphony Orchestra Membership Guild, Local Culture and Steamroller Blues’ Back to School Party, Environment’ Business After Hours, Dr. Barker’s Retirement Reception, the Foundation of Arts Fashion Camp’s Fashion Show, the Walk to Cure Diabetes Kickoff and Selby Insurance’s Private Event. For even more photos, click on “Event Galleries” on Jonesboro.com or scan the QR code in your copy of the magazine.

Click HERE to read our September issue online, and as always, you'll be able to find the magazine all around town at all of your favorite local businesses.
