22ND ANNUAL DAY OF CARING
Sep 25th, 2015 @ 12:00 am | < Previous Page |
United Way’s “Day of Caring” is the largest service project day in Northeast Arkansas.
Day of Caring is Friday, September 25. This year it is not only the official Campaign Kick-off for United Way of Northeast Arkansas, it is our 60th Birthday Celebration!
United Way started in 1955 as the “United Fund” with the simple idea of making it easier to give back to the community. Looking back over 60 years, because of the dedicated service of thousands, we have continued that mission and look forward to many years to come.
Day of Caring is a perfect example of giving back to the community. Each year local non-profits leave much needed projects undone due to a lack of financial resources and/or manpower; but with the help of volunteers these projects can be accomplished.
A volunteer team can register to work all day or only in the morning or afternoon. To register a volunteer team or sign up as an individual, download a volunteer form at the United Way website uwena.org. Work project submissions are open to non-profit organizations contact the United Way office for a form.
Register by Friday, August 28 to participate. Thanks to St. Bernards breakfast will be provided for volunteers during the opening ceremony at St. Bernards Auditorium, United Way will provide lunch for volunteers as well.
Volunteer teams are welcome to compete in the “T-shirt Design” and “Team Spirit” contests. “Team Spirit” will be awarded to the team who posts photos and shares the most on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter using #60yearsofcaring. Include our logos in your t-shirt design, find logos at uwnea.org.
Join hundreds of volunteers and LIVE UNITED to make a difference in the community where we live and work.
