Homecoming Events and Activities Set for this Weekend, Oct. 28, 29, 30, 2011

JONESBORO, Ark. (10/27/11) – Saturday’s Arkansas State football game against North Texas marks the University’s Homecoming and Red Wolves fans are encouraged to be aware of special activities, ticket promotions and other events taking place this weekend.

The A-State football team, which is the currently atop the Sun Belt Conference standings, will play North Texas Saturday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. and all kids 13 and under and wearing their Halloween costumes will get into the game for $7.50.

Saturday will also mark the start of the 2011-12 men’s basketball season when the Red Wolves take on Central Baptist at 1 p.m. at the Convocation Center.  Anyone presenting an ASU-North Texas football game ticket will be able to purchase a ticket for the basketball game for just $2.  Tickets for the Central Baptist game can be purchased at the Convocation Center ticket window on game day or in advance at the ticket office.  General admission men’s basketball game tickets will be priced at $8 each, giving those who attend both the football and basketball games on Oct. 29 a chance to take advantage of promotional savings of $6 per ticket. The combo value for both tickets is just $16.In addition to the Homecoming activities this weekend, the A-State soccer, volleyball and baseball teams will also be hosting events throughout the weekend.  The Red Wolves women’s soccer team will wrap-up its regular season schedule Friday at 2 p.m. against Arkansas-Little Rock with a ceremony honoring the team’s eight seniors following the match.The ASU volleyball team will host its final two home matches of the year on Friday, Oct. 28, and Sunday, Oct. 30. The Red Wolves will host Louisiana-Lafayette on Friday at 7 p.m. and it will also be Costume Night at the HPESS. Anyone wearing a costume to the match will be entered for a chance to win prizes. Sunday the Red Wolves will play Louisiana-Monroe at 1 p.m. in its final home match of the year. The team will also honor its two seniors before the match in a ceremony.The A-State baseball team will play an alumni game on Saturday, Oct. 29, at noon at Tomlinson Stadium. Admission to the game will be free.  Also on Saturday, the Red Wolf Club will sponsor the Hot Springs Convention and Tourist Bureau hot air balloon from 3-5 p.m. at the old track located across from the ASU Convocation Center. Currently, rides are being provided by invitation only through the Red Wolf Club.

The ASU Open Golf Tournament will be Friday, Oct. 28 at Sage Meadows at 11 am.
