Jonesboro, AR - CASA of the 2nd Judicial District of Arkansas will host its 7th

annual barbecue cooking contest, dinner and auction, Cowboy Up for CASA, on

Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 6 pm at the NEA District Fairgrounds.

! “We are very excited that Heileman Cattle Company has partnered with us to

make this year’s event better than ever,” says Megan Brown, chairperson for Cowboy

Up. “The support of major sponsors ensures we maximize all proceeds to benefit more

children in need of advocates in the foster care system. This is CASA’s largest

fundraiser each year, and we want there to be something for everyone to enjoy.”

! “Cowboy Up is unique from other fundraisers because we host a Chuck-Wagon

BBQ Competition each year. We have teams from around the region competing in the

contest as well as providing barbecue for the evening’s meal,” continues Brown.

“Guests love sampling the area’s best pork; it’s a highlight of the night.”

! It’s not too late to enter the barbecue competition. To participate teams can

contact the CASA office at (870) 935-1099.”

! Brown also acknowledges Upper Crust Pizza of Jonesboro for providing the rest

of the meal. “The folks at Upper Crust are faithful supporters of CASA all year long, and

we are pleased they will again prepare the sides and desserts for dinner.”

! A new event this year is a raffle for a $1,000 shopping spree to Carter’s Corner.

Raffle tickets are $20 and can be purchased before the event at Carter’s Corner or from

any CASA board member as well as at the door. The raffle winner will be announced

during Cowboy Up festivities.

! “Again, we are grateful to Carter’s Corner for providing this amazing prize,” says

Brown. “How exciting for some lucky winner! We depend on the support of the

community to serve out our mission, and we are always thrilled when a local business

joins us.”
