LIVE UNITED” AT 19th ANNUAL DAY OF CARING
JONESBORO, Ar. – August 31, 2011 – Mark your calendars! The United Way of Northeast Arkansas 19th Annual Day of Caring is Friday, October 7, 2011. The Day of Caring begins at 8:00 at the St. Bernards Auditorium with breakfast (provided by St. Bernards Medical Center) served from 8:00 – 8:30. Lunch for our volunteer workers will also be served at the Auditorium from 11:30 – 1:00. Projects will be ongoing throughout the day.
By taking time out of your day to help others through volunteering, you—along with your colleagues and 500 or so others in our community—can help make a lasting difference.
On the Day of Caring volunteers come together and then disperse into the community, armed with paintbrushes, shovels, rakes and more, ready to make a lasting difference in our neighbors’ lives at non-profit organizations of all kinds. Your group might build affordable housing, add a fresh coat of paint to a fence or wall, bathe a shelter dog, sort and pack food at a food bank, or spruce up landscaping. Groups and individuals might work all day or only in the morning or afternoon. To participate, go to http://www.uwnea.org/view/33 where you will find volunteer forms for individuals and groups, which should be sent to United Way by September 9 to be matched with a project.
Show your team spirit by designing a t-shirt incorporating the Day of Caring logo! You may download the logo from our website athttp://www.uwnea.org/view/33 , or if you’d prefer, we’ll be glad to e-mail it to you.
Together, UNITED, we can inspire hope and create opportunities for a better tomorrow. That is what it means to LIVE UNITED.
