2011 Blues Hall of Fame and 2012 New York Blues Hall Of Fame inductee John Hammond has been honored with a total of eight Blues Music Awards and ten nominations including Blues Music Award Winner for 2003 and 2004. He is the 2011 Blues Music Award winner for Acoustic Artist of the Year, 1985 Grammy winner for his performance on Blues Explosion and a multiple Grammy Nominee. He has performed or recorded with Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Duane Allman, Mike Bloomfield, JJ Cale, Tom Waits, The Band, John Lee Hooker, Dr. John and many more. He remains one of the world's premier acoustic blues artists. A tireless performer, John played his 4000th concert in 2008 and annually continues to tour world-wide.
