PIANO FOR ADULT BEGINNERS

Group Piano Study: During this 6-week course that meets once a week, students can expect an introduction to and/or review of basic piano skills beginning with an overview of the instrument, fingering, rhythms, note reading and more. Students will learn to read music, play piano with 2 hands and acquire skills to read beginning-level piano music on their own. This course will take place on Yamaha digital pianos in the Fine Arts Building Piano Lab, FA 209. Enrollment is limited to 12 students.
Two Class Options
Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
June 8-29, 2011 or
July 20-August 10, 2011
Text Book: Students will be responsible to purchase a text book for class, which should be ordered at the time of registration. New and used books may be found online or at local book stores. The text book is:
Adult Piano Adventures by Nancy and Randall Faber (Dovetree Productions, C/O Faber Piano Adventures, 3042 Creek Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48108. ISBN 978-1-61677-301-4. Distributed by Hal Leonard).
Note: If enough students are interested, an Adult Beginners II class possibly will be offered, beginning with a review of the first session and picking up with Unit 4 of the same text book.
