Recital Featuring Janice Wenger at the Fortepiano
September 30, 2013
7:30 pm
Fine Arts Center Recital Hall
With generous funding support from the A-State Department of Music and the College of Fine Arts
Professor of Music at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Janice Wenger holds degrees in piano performance from Kansas State University, the Eastman School of Music, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. For her A-State performance, she will perform on a McNulty Fortepiano, an exact reproduction of a fortepiano made by Anton Walter in about 1802. With a range of 5.5 octaves, the fortepiano is representative of the instruments in Vienna at the peak of composition for Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, and their contemporaries. The program will include performances by A-State faculty members Marika Kyriakos, Robin Dauer, and Guy Harrison performing works by Mozart, Haydn, Schubert, and Scarlatti.
