The eighth annual St. Bernards Advocates Butterfly Release is scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 4 in the east parking lot at the St. Bernards Imaging Center, 1144 East Matthews Avenue. Activities will be held near the water features at the side of the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.
The event is designed as a day of celebration and remembrance. Activities will include music, arts and crafts for children and refreshments. In addition, a butterfly-themed custom painting from Painting by Hailey will be sold at a silent auction.
Highlight of the program will be the release of 600 Monarch butterflies.
Butterflies may be purchased in honor or in memory of family or friends by calling the St. Bernards Foundation at 870-207-2500 or going by the Foundation office at 400 East Street. They also may be purchased by logging on to the Foundation web site, www.stbernardsfoundation.org. Butterflies will cost $135 for 10 or $15 each. (Those purchased after Sept. 30 will not be listed in the program.)
The butterfly release is sponsored by the St. Bernards Advocates, with proceeds benefiting the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, the only residential care facility for hospice patients in Northeast Arkansas. It is part of the continuum of care provided by St. Bernards Healthcare.
