Medieval Times

3rd- 6th Grade

Summer Camp Medieval Times Castle

ASU’s Middle Ages is a unique summer learning experience appropriate for students in grades 3rd- 6th.   It consists of a one-week, half-day camp that re-imagines life in the Middle Ages. A time of lords and ladies, damsels in distress, knights in shining armor, wizards and castles -- the Middle Ages were very interesting indeed! Books are still written and movies are still made about this fascinating period of history. Students learn medieval history, including such topics as the legends of Robin Hood and King Arthur, the Crusades, castle design, the history of labyrinths, and the symbolism of medieval crests and seals. In addition to history, students develop a medieval character, juggle, dance, build equipment, learn the code of chivalry and train as a knight in jousting and fencing.Traditionally, medieval studies is comprised of art history, English, history, music history, philosophy, religion, and theater history.
