Summer Scholars Camp (Ages 4 - 12)

The program is from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., Monday - Thursday. (A SNACK WILL BE PROVIDED MID-MORNING.)
Where: JONESBORO SCHOOL DISTRICT - SOUTH ELEMENTARY CAMPUS (The Health, Wellness, and Environmental Science Magnet School)
The school is located near the YMCA and Southwest Church of Christ.
Traveling west on Nettleton, you will cross over Main Street; continuing west, you will see the Kindergarten Center on your right. At the next light and intersection, turn left onto Frierson. At the end of the street, the school is on 1001 Rosemond. From Frierson turn left onto Rosemond, right on Roy (parallel to the playground), right again at the stop sign (travel past the flower shop parallel to the back of the school building), and right again on Greenwood Street. There is a parking lot to the right. Just past the lot is a covered sidewalk. A teacher will be standing there to receive your children. The program will occupy four classrooms in one hallway.
Cost: The cost is $150.00 per child for 3 weeks. If a child is able to attend only part of the time, the amount will be adjusted (i.e., $50.00 per week). Who: Children ages 4 - 12 may attend. Parents should indicate if older children have been identified as Gifted, Talented, or Creative in their school setting. However, identification is not necessary for children to attend and participate in the program for Summer Scholars.
What: Children will engage in hands-on learning through creative and critical thinking. The teachers of the program are completing their master's degree in Gifted Education. A theme will be decided by the teachers prior to the program. Children will rotate through four experiences such as archeology, science exploration, drama, visual arts, transportation, farms, music, etc. This information will be decided the first week of July.
