Tuesday, July 2 –
9:00am Native Plant Hike
Join us for a guided hike through the Native Plant Garden. Don’t forget to bring your water bottle and wear comfortable shoes.
1:30pm – 2:30pm Backyard Pollinators
Do you know how plants are pollinated? Discover why pollination is so important, what role animals play in the pollination process, and participate in a craft activity. All supplies furnished.
Wednesday, July 3 –
1:30pm – 3:00pm Looking at Leaves
Take a look at the shapes and sizes of some of Arkansas’ native trees and make a leaf craft to take home! All supplies furnished.
Thursday, July 4 –
1:30pm – 3:00pm Game Day at the Nature Center
Test you skills at one of our indoor games of Antler Toss, Bean Bag Toss, and Nerf Archery! Prizes and free popcorn!
Friday, July 5 –
9:00am – 11:00am Fishing Friday at Craighead Forest Park Family Fishing Area, Access #5
Rods and reels, as well as bait, will be provided on a first come first served basis. Limited supplies available. We will have a drawing for fishing gear at 11:00am for participants only. For ages 15 and younger.
Tuesday, July 9 –
8:30am – 3:30pm Boating Education Class Contact the nature center at 870-933-6787 to register.
Anyone born on or after January 1, 1986, and of legal age to operate a motorboat, must have successfully completed an approved Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Boating Education Course and carry proof while operating a motorboat on Arkansas water. The law also affects operators of sailboats.
9:00am Guided Nature Hike
Join us for a guided nature hike. Identification guides and binoculars will be provided. Don’t forget to bring your water bottle and wear comfortable shoes.
1:30pm – 2:30pm Turtles of Arkansas
Discover the turtles that call the natural state home!

1:30pm – 3:00pm Tales about Snails
Discover the world of snails, clams, slugs, and muscles and make something special to take home!
Thursday, July 11 –
1:30pm – 3:00pm Reptile Bingo
Join us for an hour of Reptile Bingo! Prizes! All ages are welcome.
