Small Business and Technology Development Center to Host Business Sales Tax Workshop

Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology
Development Center (SBTDC) and Arkansas Tax Associates, Inc. are hosting a small business workshop, Tuesday, May 18, entitled "Arkansas Sales and Use Tax for Small Businesses" for area business owners.

The workshop is from 1-4 p.m. in Room 110 of the ASU Delta Center for Economic Development building, 319 University Loop West, on the ASU campus.
This three-hour workshop is designed to inform business owners of
current sales tax laws, help them prevent overpayment of sales tax,
educate them about the increased risk of audits that they face due to
increased compliance audits and show them how to protect themselves from failure to comply with new regulations. The seminar also covers state
of Arkansas Incentives and Tax Credits that are available to many
eligible businesses.

The Instructors are David Rickman, Jeff Simmons
and Ted Walker of Arkansas Tax Associates, Inc.
"Arkansas Tax Associates, Inc. are long time partners with the
ASU SBTDC," said Herb Lawrence, ASU Small Business and Technology
Development Center Director, "They provide a unique service not
provided by many accounting firms by helping small businesses understand Arkansas Sales and Use Tax requirements and making sure that they are in compliance.
"Arkansas Sales and Use Tax laws become more complicated every
year and this seminar is designed to keep Craighead County businesses
informed about changes, how to deal with audits, even find out if they
have been overpaying."

Registration is $35 per person ($25 for Chamber and Downtown
Jonesboro Association (DJA) members and $20 for ASU faculty, staff and
students).
