 Gary Schuchardt Memorial 5K Run-Walk Set for June 5 Gary Schuchardt Memorial 5K Run/Walk on June 58th annual Gary Schuchardt 5K Trail Run/Walk When: June 5, 2010 at 8 AM Where: Craighead Forest Park Who Was Gary Schuchardt? Reluctant Citizen: Upon his arrival in Jonesboro in 1969 he said, "Dad you can make me move but you can't make me like it." Wandering Gary went to college, earned his bachelor's degree, married, and moved to Georgia. Committed Jonesboro citizen after a couple of years in Georgia. Gary returned to Jonesboro with a complete committment to his hometown. He served as director of the Metro Rotary Club and President of the University Rotary Club. His other services to the community included: Vice President of United Way, President of the Jonesboro Jaycees, President of the NFA District Fair Board, and Chairman of the SCAN Board of Directors. He passed away at the age of 50 in January 2003 having accomplished more in the time that most do in 90. Who does the Gary Schuchardt 5K Run Benefit? The Gary Schuchardt 5K Run and Walk supports the United Way of Northeast Arkansas and the Metro Rotary Club.
