Vacation Season Is Almost Here... Will Seafood Prices Spike?
May 20, 2010

With school almost out and summer almost here, people are planning their summer schedules which means that vacation season is here! The most likely place for families, couples, and friends to head is the beach. And the most likely place for beach goers to land after a hot, sun-scorched day on the sand is the nearest seafood restaurant. Without the best shrimp and crab in town, a beach vacation is just not the same. But maybe not this year. Cooking in the condo might be the best alternative if consumers are not willing to pay for seafood at a price.

Experts are assuming that this year's recent oil spill will affect the seafood industry, causing prices to spike all over the country. Consumers are sitting tight as they wait to see when the awaited increase will begin. Not only are consumer's sitting tight but so are seafood restaurant owners as they wait to see what the affects of 2010's oil spill will have on their livelihood. Only time will tell. And only consumers will show what they are willing to pay. Is seafood worth it?

Post your comment on Jonesboro.com and let us know if you will pay for the possible rise in seafood prices this summer!
