 Marlay Awarded Life Membership by NAFSA Sue Marlay, University College, was recently awarded Life Membership by NAFSA: Association of International Educators at its annual conference in Kansas City, Mo. NAFSA, the premier organization for professionals working in the field of international educational exchange, has upwards of 9,000 members. Two of those members were selected for Life Membership this year. In order to be eligible for Life Membership, individuals must have held membership in NAFSA for at least 20 years. In addition, they must have national recognition in and contributions to the field of international education over the duration of their career, have been elected or appointed to multiple NAFSA national leadership positions, made important and lasting contributions to the field of international education and exchange, and have positively influenced the lives or careers of participants or professionals in the field. Marlay was recognized as an awardee during the conference's plenary session on June 2 and honored at a reception that evening. Although she is retiring from ASU as of June 30, she will continue her involvement in NAFSA, serving as Poster Chair for next year’s annual conference in Vancouver, British Columbia.
