Akansas' own American Idol, Kris Allen, will perform live at George's Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville on Monday, July 5.  Backed by the talented Kris Allen Band, he will perform songs from his debut album, American Idol favorites, new cover songs, and maybe even the Hog Call. Justin Gaston, from the TV series If I Can Dream, will open for Kris.     

Since the release of his self-titled album in November 2009, Kris has performed all over the United States, Haiti and the Philippines. He will take time off from his national tour to perform a show back where it all began. Although the Kris and his wife Katy do not live in Fayetteville, they consider it home. Katy was named homecoming queen at the University of Arkansas in 2007, and said, "Fayetteville is such a special place to me because I spent four years of college here. Kris actually proposed to me at the square, which is walking distance from where he will be performing!"   

The Allens' love for Arkansas can also be seen in their support for the Razorbacks. Kris said, "We are both really big Razorback fans, and having a show in Hog Country is going to be a lot of fun."
