Starting next Tuesday, Heather Patterson, a busy and incredibly creative stay-at-home mom, will be blogging on a weekly basis for Jonesboro.com. In her own words, this is what you can expect each week in "Little Hands:"

Hello, my name is Heather, and life as a stay at home mom/full time college student can be quite hectic with a 2 year old and 6 month old. I've come up with a few ways here and there to slow down, enjoy these precious moments, and have a whole lot of fun while we're at it. Each week, I'd like to show you little ways to do things with your kids in crafting, cooking, and activities on a budget.

Things can be as simple as a Summer Bash the last day of school with water gun fights and lemonade, or making special pink heart-shaped pancakes for Valentine's Day breakfast to building a kitchen set out of an entertainment center you get at a garage sale with some paint and about 10 hours of work.

I'll also be sharing ways to make fun and healthy foods for kids, as well as showing you how simple and cheap it is to make your own baby food this summer from fruits and veggies bought at local farmer's markets. So check back with me to learn quick ways to preserve your sanity and their imaginations while you build memories together.
