Little Hands on Spring Break
Mar 22, 2011

After a crazy week two weeks ago, last week and this week (yay, Spring Break!) are in slow mode. There wasn't much crafting involving London, just some decor stuff for their room and our house. There was, however, a whole lot of playing outside! Lance finished the wooden swing set last week, and everyday is spent playing on it. It's times like this that need the little things here and there to make each day special. We've had picnics outside, long wagon rides and picked every dandelion in sight. We had some Bruster's ice cream one evening and ended up laying a blanket down in the back of my SUV to have picnic and block the wind. On St. Patrick's Day, we put on our green and had a festive dinner with grilled chicken (I couldn't think of any green entrees?) brocolli, rice (there was a lot of green seasoning), and then for dessert, we had kiwi, green apples, and green grapes with fruit dip. (I'll confess here that the dip was marshmellow cream mixed with whipped cream with a tiny bit of green food coloring.)

This week will prove to be the same, except that Story's crib is in, which leaves me with two HUGE pieces of cardboard...Those will, indeed, need to be used for something. The last thing I made for London from cardboard was a request for a washer and dryer while I was trying to finish birthday crafts. I used a diaper box, hot glue (of course), and permanent marker and it worked just fine for the two year old. It's already been trashed, but I was going to throw away the box anyway, so why not make it fun first? Sometimes creativity isn't as important as taking a few extra minutes to see dandelions or a diaper box from their perspective. It's going to be a beautiful week! Go feed the ducks at Craighead, or play on the (usually) empty playground at Joe Mac Park, have ice cream and be silly. It's Spring Break!

Until next week,
Heather
