Event and Guitar Benefit Family of Officer Jonathan Schmidt
May 04, 2011

When 30-year-old police officer Jonathan Schmidt was fatally shot during a routine traffic stop on April 12, 2011, his untimely death greatly affected Northeast Arkansas. Since then, there have been several local events and fundraisers to benefit Schmidt’s family. One such event will be happening tonight at Brickhouse in downtown Jonesboro.

107-9 K-Fine and Fletcher Dodge Chrysler Jeep have teamed up to hold a benefit concert; the proceeds will go directly to the Jonathan Schmidt Memorial Fund to benefit the family of officer Jonathan Schmidt. Thompson Square, who is known for their hit song, “You Gonna Kiss Me or Not,” will be performing. The doors open at 7 p.m. and the event starts at 9:30.

The benefit concert will also feature a silent auction to benefit the memorial fund, but even if you can’t make it out tonight, you can still bid on an awesome guitar that is signed by Brad Paisley. Head to kfin.com; the bidding starts at 8 a.m. tomorrow.

Unfortunately, due to immense interest, the event is already completely sold out, but fear not – you can still contribute to Schmidt’s family. To make a donation to the Jonathan Schmidt Memorial Fund, please click here.
