Four Years of Frugality: Midterm Munchies
Oct 13, 2011

For the past few weeks, midterms have consumed most students’ lives. Thus why disappeared for a short time.

The first midterm exams are always very tough on a new student and trust me, they don’t get any easier. So, for this week my roommate and I made special, celebratory midterm munchies. Though they aren’t healthy at all, they will help cushion the blow after a tough exam.

Now, if you’re in a dorm, you will have to make a trip to the floor kitchen in your building, but otherwise, that’s about all the effort these little delights take.

Start with either chocolate chip cookie dough or chocolate chip cookie mix (if you want to get in touch with your inner Susie Homemaker). Make sure the dough is soft enough to work with, but still somewhat cool so it will hold up.

Next, get your favorite Oreos. You’re probably very confused by this point, but you won’t be disappointed.

Now, take an Oreo and a spoonful of cookie dough. Place the spoonful on one side of the Oreo and repeat with the other side. It’s fine if the dough doesn’t completely wrap around the Oreo.

Place these on a cookie sheet three inches apart and according to the directions on either the mix or dough packages (some may call for ungreased cookie sheet, others may require a little PAM). Bake the cookies according to the directions as well.

In just a few minutes, you will have possibly the most unhealthy snack possibly, but it will be so worth it. It’s perfect to get you through any stressful situation you will run into in your college career.

Good luck, and see ya' around campus!
