Little Hands Has a Change of Plans
Apr 03, 2013

My very first post for this blog was on birthday tutorial for my oldest daughter's 2nd birthday. Fast forward a bit and now, you find me with a 4 year old, 2.5 year old, and another baby due mid-summer. We now live in a different house, have a dog, and there are currently six ducklings swimming in my bathtub. I'm not kidding. Last week, I planned a post on dyeing eggs naturally and we all donned our aprons in the kitchen Tuesday. Somehow, every single white egg turned a various shade of brown even though we attempted green, pink, and blue. Today, I had planned a post on making homemade window clings. After having to push back making them repeatedly because of particularly hard behavior issues, we finally made them. They were drying and almost ready when the two year old that had been warned repeatedly hit them with a stuffed animal. Ruined craft. Glue, food coloring, dish soap covered stuffed animal.

I lost my cool, cleaned everything up, had to go in an apologize for losing my cool, and now sit here confessing this to you instead of making dinner that should be served in 30 minutes. I just thought that you should see the real side of our family every so often. I decided that maybe more than a post on homemade window clings, veggie loaded smoothies, or some other Martha Stewart thing that I really do love, maybe today you could benefit from the real me and knowing that even moms with blogs have days, ahem, weeks that turn out not so great. I'm sitting here with a late dinner, ducks in the bath, fighting children that have changed clothes more than Cher, and a ruined craft. Tomorrow is another day. So we can all breathe, pray for sunshine and outdoors, and laugh hard days off together.

Until next time,

Heather

Love your honesty and I've been there. So much worse with teens, though believe me.
